I have friends who disagree with me, but my husband and I are of the opinion that home security systems are absolutely worth the monthly investment. It’s an affordable investment, for one thing, and the peace of mind that it affords my children and me while my husband is traveling is impossible to put a price on. We had a slight scare once last year while we were away from the home—a man broke through our basement window and stole a few valuables. We were so fortunate that none of us were home, but decided then and there to have a security system installed. We have the alarm activated any time that we’re home, and we never feel unsafe. I know it’s been such a blessing for me in particular, because I historically have trouble falling and to stay asleep when my husband is out of town. Now, I make sure the alarm is on and just fall right to sleep. It’s made all the difference for our family! It might not be an investment everyone feels like making, but I can say without a doubt that it’s a smart investment for my family.
